The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Improved Player Award is given to a player who has made significant strides in his game from the beginning of the AAU season to the end.  These improvements are not only based on statistics, but also include the player's mental approach, intensity and will to win that he brings to each and every game.  I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2011 OCA 9th Grade Boys Most Improved Player Award is Bennett Herbert from Kings High School.

Bennett was a key player for this year's team who played both guard spots (point guard and shooting guard) depending on the situation.  He did a great job of taking care of the basketball and putting his teammates in positions to score.  He also increased his scoring average and did a tremendous job running the team when called upon during the July NCAA evaluation period; which included a tournament championship in the Summer Sizzler Showcase in Indianapolis, IN.

I believe that Bennett Herbert will put in the hard work that it takes to continue to improve as a player.  I expect Bennett to have a great sophomore season at Kings High School and hope that he chooses OCA again next year.  Congratulations Bennett!
