The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Valuable Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on both ends of the floor and is indispensable to the team's overall success. This player has talent, intelligence, work ethic, and leads by example on and off the court. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2012 OCA 7th Grade Girls (Shinkle) Most Valuable Player Award is Hope Schaljo from Williamsburg Middle School.
Hope can do anything on the basketball court. She can score, rebound, and is an excellent ball handler. Most teams would drop out of the press because Hope was a one person press break. Her speed on the court was a difficult match-up for any team. Whether it was scoring, defending, or making a big play to change the momentum of a game, Hope would do what was needed for the team to be successful. She is a tremendous athlete that works very hard and her efforts show on the court. Congratulations Hope!
