The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2013 OCA 7th Grade Boys Best Defensive Player Award is Jordan Stroud from Blanchester Middle School.

Jordan was a much needed body that this year’s team could not do without. His pure athleticism combined with decision making and timing made him our best defensive player. He never backed down to the often times bigger opponents. He has quick feet, quicker hands, and a mental approach to the game that led to him being able to anticipate the opponents next move. He was regularly able to run down opponents from behind and swat their lay-up attempts. He constantly made big defensive stops for the team and he’ll continue doing big things on defense in the future. Congratulations Jordan!
