The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Offensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the offensive end of the court. This player not only has the ability and confidence to take and make big shots for his team, but is willing to share the basketball and put his teammates in position to score. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2013 7th Grade Boys Best Offensive Player Award is Tony Moore from Goshen Middle School.
Tony is the offensive presence that all teams need in order to win games. Whenever we were in a must score situation, the ball had to end up in Tony’s hands. He came in at the beginning of the year as a pure shooter, but worked hard in practice to become better at taking the ball to the basket. He developed this slasher/scorer mentality that made him lethal from both inside and out of the three point line. In an elimination round earlier this year, Tony kept us in the game by scoring the first 16 points for the team. If Tony continues working on his dribble-drive game, he will become a match-up nightmare for opposing teams. Congratulations Tony!
