The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Valuable Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on both ends of the floor and is indispensable to the team's overall success. This player has talent, intelligence, work ethic, and leads by example on and off the court. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2013 7th Grade Boys Most Valuable Player Award is Carson Eyre from Mount Orab Middle School.
Carson was everything that a coach wants in a point guard. He was the motor that ran the team. When Carson was playing well, the team was playing well. He’s a skilled ball handler, who I could trust to run the offense and make the on-court decisions needed to win games. He changed the momentum in countless games single handily with his defensive pressure and steals. His consistent play and 100% effort made it hard for me to take him out of games. His game play mirrored the hard work he exerted in practice and his willingness to learn and get better. I have no doubt that Carson will continue to improve and become a fine basketball player in the years to come. Congratulations Carson!
