The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Valuable Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on both ends of the floor and is indispensable to the team's overall success. This player has talent, intelligence, work ethic, and leads by example on and off the court. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2013 10th Grade Boys Most Valuable Player Award is Garrett Weaver from Amelia High School.
Garrett was the most complete player on the team this season. He is so versatile that he could bring the ball up against the press, take his man off the dribble from the wing or post his man up on the block. On the defensive end, he played and guarded 3 different positions. When it came to needing a basket or shutting down an opposing player, Garrett was always up for the challenge. Garrett led the team in FG% and defensive rebounding. He was also second on the team in scoring, offensive rebounding, steals and FT%. He was also looked at as a leader by his teammates and someone I could count on to have a good attitude on and off of the court. Congratulations Garrett!
