The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense, by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2014 OCA 9th Grade Boys Best Defensive Player Award is Mitch Suder from Loveland High School.
 
The number one ingredient to a solid defensive player is desire. Mitch may not be the biggest, fastest, or the strongest, but no one is ever going to question his desire on the basketball court. Game after game, Mitch was asked to guard the best player on the opposing team, and not only did he do it, he excelled at it. He is a very versatile player and a joy to coach. Congratulations Mitch!
