The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Offensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the offensive end of the court.  This player not only has the ability and confidence to take and make big shots for his team, but is willing to share the basketball and put his teammates in position to score.  I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2014 11th Grade Boys Best Offensive Player Award is Kyle Morrisroe from McNicholas High School.

At the beginning of the season, I told Kyle that I needed him to be our point guard this year. This is a position that he had not played on a full-time basis since he was much younger. Not only did he accept this challenge, he excelled at the position. Kyle led the team in assists, was second on the team in scoring, first in free throw percentage, and third in three-point percentage this season. Kyle scored in double figures in 17 games this year; including a 17 point, 4 assist, 4 rebound performance against the Southfield Transition to lead us to the Spiece Memorial Day Madness Tournament Championship. He was our floor general and did a great job of getting the team into the proper offensive set. When we were trying to close out an opponent, Kyle was at his best. He made all 8 of his free throw attempts in a win over the Dayton Nets at the Adidas May Classic and shot an amazing 82% from the free throw line for the season.

I enjoyed coaching Kyle this year and I expect him to have a fantastic Senior season at McNicholas High School and to have the opportunity to continue his career on the next level. Congratulations Kyle!
