The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Valuable Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on both ends of the floor and is indispensable to the team's overall success. This player has talent, intelligence, work ethic, and leads by example on and off the court. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2014 11th Grade Boys Most Valuable Player Award is Brad Hall from Milford High School.
Despite being the youngest player on our team this year, Brad was our most consistent all-around player. He either led the team or was near the top of almost every statistical category this season. He led the team in scoring, field goal percentage, made three-pointers, and steals. He was second on the team in made free throws and rebounding, and third on the team in assists. Brad scored in double figures in 19 games and recorded 5 double doubles (double digits in scoring and rebounding in the same game) this season. In Bracket Play of the Spiece Memorial Day Madness Tournament, Brad was at his best as he scored 76 points in 3 games; including a 31-point, 10 rebound performance against the Ohio Elite Kings to lead our team to the Tournament Championship. Brad always found a way to help his team on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. He is a very versatile defender who can guard multiple positions and the rest of the team fed off of his intensity. Brad made everyone around him better. His all-around game was on display against the Columbus Kings at the AAU Division 1 State Championship Tournament. He was 11 for 14 from the field, 3 for 4 from the three-point line, 3 for 3 from the free throw line, and had 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. In this game he also hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to lead the team to a big win!
Brad is a coach's dream. He always represented our program in a first class manner on and off the court. I enjoyed coaching Brad this season and I look forward to coaching him again next year. I expect Brad to have a fantastic Junior season at Milford High School and continue to improve in all areas of the game. Congratulations Brad!
