The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2016 OCA 7th Grade Boys (Moore) Best Defensive Player Award is Nate Mountain from Nagel Silver Middle School!
Nate is a smart basketball player that uses his feet and hands to make offensive players uncomfortable with the ball. Many of Nate’s deflections turned into steals and were then converted into fast break points. The most telling stat of Nate’s season is that he played the most minutes out of any player on the team and he always played with maximum effort. Nate also did a good job playing the point guard position recognizing defenses and then getting his teammates into the best offense to be successful. Congratulations Nate!
