The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2016 OCA 10th Grade Boys (Smith) Best Defensive Player Award is Hunter Bode from Anderson High School!

Hunter was our anchor on defense. He became a great shot blocker as the season progressed by improving his timing when it came to contesting shots. He controlled the paint by either block or altering shots and making it hard for opponents to get clean looks. He was also able to step out and guard smaller defenders using his length and speed to stay in front of them. Many times Hunter’s blocked shots, deflections and defensive rebounding created a spark for our team and started fast breaks. Congratulations Hunter!
