The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2017 OCA 8th Grade Boys (Hoffman) Best Defensive Player Award is Zach Danner from Loveland Middle School!

Zach was one of our most committed players. Even though he was still recovering from an injury and had to miss some of our games earlier in the season, he still was at practice to learn as much as he could and to support his teammates. His commitment paid off because as he got healthier, Zach became one of our best rebounders and altered a lot of our opponent's shots through his length and aggressiveness. I'm excited to see Zach continue to grow as a basketball player. Congratulations Zach!
