The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2017 OCA 9th Grade Boys (Rudolph) Best Defensive Player Award is Arsene Takam from West Clermont High School!
Arsene was an impact player for our team on the defensive end. He was one of the team leaders in rebounds, blocked shots, and steals. His ability to get in position for rebounds and to block shots was crucial to the success of our team this season. Arsene's height and length allow him to guard multiple positions, but it's his desire to outwork his opponents that sets him apart. He continues to improve in all aspects of his game and I'm excited to see Arsene play for his school team next season! Congratulations Arsene!
