The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2018 8th Grade Boys (Miller) Best Defensive Player Award is Jackson Miller from Mt. Orab Middle School!

Jackson can change the game on the defensive end of the floor. He has an uncanny ability to read passing lanes and has very active hands. He led our team in steals and deflections and also played our Syracuse 2-3 zone almost perfectly. The defensive intensity that Jackson brings to the game is contagious and his teammates fed off of his energy. He was a big part of our team's success this season. I'm excited to see Jackson continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Jackson!
