The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Valuable Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on both ends of the floor and is indispensable to the team's overall success. This player has talent, intelligence, work ethic, and leads by example on and off the court. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2018 8th Grade Boys (Miller) Most Valuable Player Award is Eli Kirk from Milford Junior High School!
When Eli came in to the game the rest of the players fed off of the intensity that he displayed on both ends of the floor. Simply put, we were a better team when he was in the game because he made everyone around him better. He is extremely quick and can use his speed to change any game. Eli was at or near the top of almost every statistical category this season. He also did so many things that don't show up in the box score. Whether it was taking a charge, diving for a loose ball, jumping to save a bad pass, or defending a bigger player, Eli was always willing to sacrifice his body to help the team. He was a big part of our team's success this season. I'm excited to see Eli continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Eli!
