The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Offensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the offensive end of the court. This player not only has the ability and confidence to take and make big shots for his team, but is willing to share the basketball and put his teammates in position to score. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2018 9th Grade Boys (Johnson) Best Offensive Player Award is Drew Gleason from Loveland High School!
Drew’s ability to shoot from the perimeter was a major threat to our opponents this season. He also possesses one of the most overlooked skills in basketball; which is the ability to move without the ball. In a win against the Miami County Mayhem, he hit 7 three pointers including the game winner on a last second shot. When teams tried to pressure him to limit his outside shooting, Drew was also able to put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket. I am excited to see Drew play in high school this season! Congratulations Drew!
