The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2018 11th Grade Boys (Steele) Best Defensive Player Award is Jackson Gregory from Georgetown High School!
Jackson continued to improve each and every game he played this season and became a force in the paint on the defensive end. He led our team in rebounding and blocked shots and was able to use his height, length, and athleticism to alter a number of our opponents shot attempts. He was also able to deflect a number of passes that led to steals for himself and his teammates. Jackson is a hard worker and was a big part of our team’s success. I expect Jackson to have a great senior season at Georgetown High School. Congratulations Jackson!
