The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Improved Player Award is given to a player who has made significant strides in his game from the beginning of the AAU season to the end. These improvements are not only based on statistics, but also include the player's mental approach, intensity, and will to win that he brings to each and every game. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2018 11th Grade Boys (Callahan) Most Improved Player Award is Jake Peters from Kings High School!

Jake was new to our program this year and I could tell at the beginning of the season that he was struggling a bit to find his role on the team. I had watched him play for his school team and knew that he was an excellent shooter, but he was passing up open looks. As the season progressed, he became more aggressive and began looking for his own shot and after that when he entered the game, it was instant offense. Jake was the 4th on the team in scoring at 7.6 points per game and shot over 36% from the three-point line. In May, he scored a season high 24 points against OCA-Steele to lead our team to a victory at the Big Shots Tournament. Jake also scored 22 points in a win over Kingdom Dynasty in the BW-3’s Super Regional Tournament. He had a streak of 6 straight games in double figures in May and he was a big part of our team’s success this season. I enjoyed coaching Jake this year and I expect him to have a fantastic senior season at Kings High School and to have the opportunity to continue his career on the next level. Congratulations Jake!
