The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Improved Player Award is given to a player who has made significant strides in his game from the beginning of the AAU season to the end. These improvements are not only based on statistics, but also include the player's mental approach, intensity, and will to win that he brings to each and every game. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2019 7th Grade Boys (Callahan) Most Improved Player Award is Justin Kattus from All Saints School!
At the beginning of the season, I could tell that Justin was unsure of his role on our team. He is a good shooter, but he was passing up open shots and not applying enough pressure defensively. However, as the season progressed, Justin became more and more assertive on both ends of the floor. He became a reliable offensive threat and on the defensive end, he was able to come up with several timely steals and deflections that led to easy baskets for our team. He also became a much more aggressive rebounder. I’m excited to see Justin continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Justin!
