The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Improved Player Award is given to a player who has made significant strides in his game from the beginning of the AAU season to the end. These improvements are not only based on statistics, but also include the player's mental approach, intensity, and will to win that he brings to each and every game. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2019 7th Grade Boys (Moore) Most Improved Player Award is Ryland Hayslip from Georgetown Junior High School!
Ryland improved throughout the season with his decision making; which very important at the point guard position. He made better passing/dribbling decisions on the offensive end and made better decisions on when to use his speed and quickness to gamble for steals on the defensive end of the floor. When Ryland gets a steal, he instantly becomes a playmaker and wants to turn the steal into points for his team as quickly as possible. Ryland plays much bigger than his size which proved valuable when our team was shorthanded due to injuries or other commitments. He is very skilled and a hard worker. I’m excited to see Ryland continue to improve as basketball player! Congratulations Ryland!
