The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able, to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2019 7th Grade Boys (Moore) Best Defensive Player Award is Tofa Luani from Milford Junior High School!

Tofa was our strongest defensive presence and leading rebounder from the beginning of the season to the end. His is a versatile defender whose speed, quickness, and size allowed us to switch screens and play aggressive man-to-man defense.  Tofa also made great strides offensively during the season. He improved on finishing around the basket with his left-hand, shooting from midrange, and attacking mismatches from the perimeter. I am amazed how well that Tofa plays on both ends of the floor given that this is his first full year of playing basketball! I’m excited to see Tofa continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Tofa!
