The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability is able, to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2019 8th Grade Boys (Red) Best Defensive Player Award is Carson Miles from Georgetown Junior High School!

Carson was at or near the top in almost every defensive statistical category for our team this season. He is definitely not a typical guard. He plays much bigger. Carson was second in blocks, first in steals, and third in rebounding. He is an all-around great player and an even better leader who led by example at practice and in games through his hard work and effort. He was a calming influence on the court and could always be counted on to make a play when we needed it the most. He was a big part of our team’s success. I’m excited to see Carson continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Carson!
