The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability, is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2019 9th Grade Boys (Bruns) Best Defensive Player Award is Cameron Weil from Western Brown High School!

Cameron is a force to be reckoned with inside. No team we played this season had anyone that could match his strength. When he got his hands on a rebound, it was his. It was fun to watch an opposing big man try to grab a rebound from Cameron. They all just seemed to bounce off him. He is a double, double machine who owned the paint at both ends. I’m excited to see Cameron continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Cameron!
