The Ohio Crossover Athletics Best Defensive Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on the defensive end of the court. This player through effort, hard work, and ability, is able to disrupt the opposing team and take them out of their offense by shutting down his opponent one-on-one or contributing to his team's success with great help side defense. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2019 9th Grade Boys (Garrett) Best Defensive Player Award is Blaise Burrows from Georgetown High School!

Blaise has great length with very quick and active hands. He was the anchor of our press and had numerous steals and deflections that led to easy scoring opportunities for our team. He is a versatile defender that can guard multiple positions. Blaise always seemed to make a play when our team needed it the most and was a big part of our success this season. I’m excited to see Blaise continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Blaise!
