The Ohio Crossover Athletics Most Valuable Player Award is given to a player who exemplifies excellence on both ends of the floor and is indispensable to the team's overall success. This player has talent, intelligence, work ethic, and leads by example on and off the court. I am proud to announce that the winner of the 2019 10th Grade Boys (Moore) Most Valuable Player Award is Dominic Cantrella from Turpin High School!
Dominic worked hard to improve in the off-season, and he put all his skills on full display this season. In most games, he deservedly drew our opponent’s best defender and he was still able to be effective and extremely productive. He kept defenders off balance by changing speeds and direction then was able to finish over, around, and under the help defenders. When he drew help, he was also able to create scoring opportunities for his teammates. Dominic is also a willing defender that sits down and harasses the opposing point guard. His willingness to play defense combined with his offensive game makes him a player that is very difficult to take off the court. Dominic has a great feel for the game and is a big reason that our team was able to win close games and have another great season overall. I’m excited to see Dominic continue to improve as a basketball player! Congratulations Dominic!
